CCE is a platform which we inculcate core values which guide individual’s behaviour. In the weekly lessons, students will be taught explicitly on

a) School Values

  • Passion
  • Resilience
  • Integrity
  • Dare to try
  • Empathy
b) Social and Emotional Competencies which refers to an individual’s ‘acquisition of skills to recognise and manage emotions, develop care and concern for others, make responsible decisions, establish positive relationships, and handle challenging situations effectively’. It is important that students acquire the skills, knowledge and dispositions that will help them face future challenges with resilience and tenacity. The 5 domains are
  • Self Awareness
  • Social Awareness
  • Self Management
  • Relationship Management
  • Responsible Decision Making

Teaching of these associated skills can be through structured learning experiences or through incidental learning moments. Students equipped with these skills, anchored in sound moral values will be able to demonstrate good character and citizenship.

Other skills and competencies which are taught to students in order to equipped them with the 21st CC skills are

  • Time Management
  • Stress Management
  • Target Setting

The highlight for Swiss CME programme is the integration of VIA within the CME curriculum. The themes for the various levels revolved around Environmental Care / Junior Care / Senior Care / Special Care. The VIA is an extension of the values learnt in CME lesson, and students were given an authentic environment to render their service.
